Lab Shelf™
Southern Sun’s thin-film, mass-flow liquid tissue culture system
is a cutting edge plant growth system that increases the plant’s
sucrose uptake and transpiration while decreasing the lab’s labor
and overhead costs. The system has proven to be effective in growing
a broad range of plants in liquid without the complications of typical
bioreactors used in temporary immersion systems (TIS).
The Rocker Kit™
Southern Sun
has created a Liquid Lab™ Rocker Kit test system for side by side
comparison tials with your current tissue culture or somatic embryogenesis
system. The Liquid Lab Rocker Kit is a 4.2’ x 2.3’ x 2.2’ (1.25 meters
x .75 meters x .67 meters) test system that weighs 50lbs. (22.7 kilos)
and is readily shippable.
Liquid
Lab Vessel™ Southern Sun has created a light weight polycarbonite plastic
rocker kit vessel that is specifically sized and designed to work
efficiently in the Liquid Lab®. The vessel is autoclavable, has a
built in dust shield and can be both a side and top loader. The vessel
includes a microporous patch for gas exchange along with a septaport
for the addition and testing of fluids. The vessel is 10.5” x 4” x
4” (27 x 10 x 10 cm) and includes a lid, patch and septaport and holds
as much as 8-15 baby food jars, depending on the plant.
Liquid
Lab Patch™
Southern Sun has developed a breathable patch with a 0.2 microporous
membrane that enables gas exchange in virtually any type of tissue
culture vessel. The patch is bonded to a non-woven Polyester® for
strength and is durable enough to withstand multiple passes through
an autoclave. The Liquid Lab Patch® is made to withstand the rigors
of a tissue culture lab with a Gurley airflow of 17 seconds/100cc/SI,
water intrusion pressure of +50psi and a burst strength of 21psi.
